The purpose of the Friends of Morrow Mountain State Park is to support and promote the park for the benefit of the general public, including raising funds for park facilities and to enhance the protection, preservation, and public education of the park’s unique natural, scenic, cultural and historic resources.
Morrow Mountain State Park in Stanly County is in the heart of the Uwharrie Mountains along the shores of the Yadkin/Pee Dee River. Generous land gifts were made by James M. Morrow and other citizens of Stanly County. The park is the third oldest N.C. State Park constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps starting in 1935.
