Overlook Construction

Construction on a new Observation Deck at the top of Morrow Mountain facing the Uwharrie Mountains. Construction began a few weeks ago.

The deck will be located on the east side of the mountain at the circle near the picnic shelter.

A generous donation by Tom Rabe has made possible the future 1000 square foot viewing deck.  Mr. Rabe was the grandson of James Morrow,  who originally donated 1000 acres of land  to the state of North Carolina.

Other donations have helped make this project possible.

Decking material has been donated by Fiberon.

Robert M Lovin Construction is contracted to complete the project.

After the holes for the pylons have been satisfactorily modified, the cement pylons and walkway will be poured.

The deck will be 1000 square feet.

A handicap  accessible picnic area is planned near the deck.
